About the Founder

Andrea Sieminski, J.D., PHR, is the CEO and Founder of People First Consulting, LLC, a firm that works with startups to navigate the complex web of employment laws to create company policies and HR practices that put people first while also reducing compliance risk. Her ultimate goal is to help companies create a culture where people feel a deep sense of belonging. A place where employees can thrive, not survive.

Andrea combines a deep understanding of what makes people tick with her legal background, to help companies focus on their people so that, together, they can meet and exceed their business goals. 

She has worked on the people team at multiple high-growth VC backed companies in the trenches. In those roles, she successfully enhanced the employee experience by analyzing, planning, implementing, and measuring people operations policies, programs, and practices. She is experienced in advising leadership teams on organization development, performance management, employee engagement, the end-to-end employee life cycle, compensation, leave of absence administration, reductions in force, change management, succession planning, compliance and employee relations issues/investigations. 

She has also worked as a corporate attorney for top tier law firms where she, among other things, advised founders, management teams and boards of directors on a full range of business and legal issues facing emerging technology companies, including intellectual property licensing and protection, IPOs, corporate governance, debt and equity financings, employment/benefits, and equity compensation. She brings both breadth and depth to her approach.

Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, Andrea grew up with an innate desire to help people in her community in a meaningful way. People First Consulting, LLC allows her to do just that. She provides strategic advice, tools, and opportunities to achieve business success through people. She is hyper-focused on the employee experience and believes people should thrive, not survive at work.
